IS YOUR POOL CLEANER READY FOR THE SUMMER SEASON?

If the cleaner is moving slow or not moving at all, check the flow or the suction.  If the flow is correct, chances are the problem is associated with your automatic cleaner.  If the flow is low, check your baskets, clean your filter, check the cleaner for debris, and check the hoses for cracks or breaks.
  •

    • Replace any worn parts, especially hoses. The manufacturers design these hoses to work a certain way and the cleaners are very dependent on them.  If the hoses are curling or coiling, disassemble them, allow them to lay straight in the sun, and re-assemble them in a different order as they do retain a memory from time to time.

    • Give your cleaner a rest once a week and remove it from the pool.  This will allow your system to run at its maximum which is healthy for your equipment.

    • Leaves are a definite strain on cleaners.  If you have a heavy leaf problem it may be to your advantage to remove the cleaner during these times.  It could help to eliminate a much bigger problem when your baskets get clogged with the leaves and cause a strain on your pump.
